Roadway Improvements and Traffic Advisories

December 10–17, 2025

Traffic Signal Shutdown at Alton Parkway and Technology West

The traffic signal at Alton Parkway and Technology West will be turned off or in red flash mode Thursday, December 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Every effort will be made to keep traffic flowing and minimize disruptions, but delays should be expected, and motorists should consider using alternate routes when possible.

The work is part of a traffic signal synchronization project along Alton Parkway.

I-405 Freeway On-Ramp Weekend Closure

Caltrans crews will be performing asphalt removal and paving, which will require a full weekend closure of the northbound I-405 Culver Drive on-ramp. Work is scheduled Friday, December 12, at 10 p.m. through Monday, December 15, at 5 a.m.

Detour routes will be posted to help motorists navigate through the area during the closure. Please follow all temporary construction signage and reduce your traveling speed through the construction zone.

Walnut Avenue Improvements

The City will continue to perform concrete sidewalk repairs and asphalt pavement rehabilitation on Walnut Avenue from Myford Road to Culver Drive.

Work will continue through January 2026 weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Walnut

Deerfield and Hearthstone Neighborhoods Street Rehabilitation

The City will continue street rehabilitation in the Deerfield and Hearthstone neighborhoods through Thursday, December 18. The project will improve pavement on local streets in the neighborhoods. 

Work will occur Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on residential streets in the following locations:

  • Deerfield Avenue: Both directions from Culver Drive to Harvard Avenue
  • Hearthstone: Both directions from Deerfield Avenue to Irvine Center Drive

Irvine Business Complex Sidewalk Improvements

The City is making improvements to sidewalks within the Irvine Business Complex through Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Sidewalk construction and repair work occurs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Sidewalk and adjacent curblines will be impacted where work is underway, however, traffic flow will not be impacted.

Irvine Business Complex Sidewalk Improvements

Woodbury Neighborhood Street Rehabilitation

Concrete sidewalk construction and repairs are underway within the Woodbury neighborhood as part of the Annual Slurry and Rehabilitation project. 

Work occurs weekdays through May 2026, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Lane closures, if any, will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Construction is expected to be limited to sidewalks and driveways. Landscaping at the front of various properties throughout the neighborhood will also be restored. Construction crews will be on-site to direct traffic around the work areas.

Woodbury neighborhoods Street Rehabilitation

I-55 Freeway Off-Ramp Weekend Closure

Orange County Transportation Authority crews are shifting traffic on the northbound McFadden Avenue off-ramp, which requires an extended closure of the off-ramp, Friday, December 12, at 9 p.m. to Monday, December 15, at 5 a.m.

This work is part of the Orange County Transportation Authority's SR-55 Improvement project. Please visit octa.net/55Construction for more information. 


State Route 73 Closures

The northbound State Route (SR) 73 Bison Avenue on-ramp will be closed nightly, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Thursday, December 11. It will also close Friday, December 12, at 9 p.m., opening Saturday, December 13, at 7 a.m.
