Roadway Improvements and Traffic Advisories

November 19–26, 2025

In addition to the projects listed below that may impact your commute, you can find information on work being done to enhance our City on the Capital Improvement Projects Map and the Road Construction Map.

State Route 55 Dyer Road Closures

Orange County Transportation Authority crews are reconstructing the northbound State Route 55 (SR-55) Dyer Road loop on-ramp, which requires an extended closure of the on-ramp, weather permitting, through Sunday, November 23, at 5 a.m.

In addition, Orange County Transportation Authority crews are repaving the outside lane on northbound SR-55 between the Dyer Road off-ramp and Warner Avenue bridge. This requires an extended closure of the off-ramp, weather permitting, Friday, November 21, at 9 p.m. to Monday, November 24, at 5 a.m.

I-405 Freeway Closures

Caltrans crews are making improvements to the I-405 Freeway between the I-5 Freeway and Harbor Boulevard. This requires nightly lane, ramp, and connector closures, weather permitting, through Saturday, November 22, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Intermittent Freeway Lane Closures:

  • Northbound I-405 from I-5 to Fairview Road
  • Southbound I-405 from SR-73 to I-5

Intermittent Ramp Closures:

  • Northbound I-405 on-ramp from Irvine Center Drive
  • Northbound I-405 on-ramp from eastbound University Drive/Jeffrey Road
  • Northbound I-405 loop on-ramp from westbound University Drive/Jeffrey Road
  • Northbound I-405 off-ramp to University Drive/Jeffrey Road
  • Northbound I-405 on-ramp and off-ramp at Jamboree Road
  • Northbound I-405 loop on-ramp from eastbound MacArthur Boulevard
  • Northbound I-405 off-ramp to MacArthur Boulevard

Intermittent Connector Closures:

  • Northbound I-5 connector to northbound I-405
  • Northbound I-405 connector to southbound SR-55
  • Northbound I-405 connector to southbound SR-133
  • Southbound SR-55 connector to SNA Airport
  • Southbound SR-55 connector to southbound I-405
  • Southbound I-405 connector to northbound and southbound SR-133
  • Southbound SR-133 connector to southbound I-405

State Route 73 Closures

The northbound State Route 73 (SR-73) Bison Avenue on-ramp will be closed nightly, weather permitting, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Thursday, November 20. It will also close Friday, November 21, at 9 p.m., opening Saturday, November 22, at 7 a.m.

State Route 133 Closures

The southbound State Route 133 (SR-133) connector to the northbound I-5 Freeway will be closed, weather permitting, through Thursday, November 20, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

In addition, the southbound SR-133 connector to the southbound I-405 Freeway will be closed through Thursday, November 20, from 11:59 p.m. to 5 a.m.
