 Spooky Staff Recommendations
It’s “spooky season,” and our staff has some fun book recommendations to share!
“Ghosts, Toast, and Other Hazards” by Susan Tan Moving to a new town is a big change for Mo and her family. Besides the normal worries about fitting in at a new school and making sure her family is adjusting, a ghostly elephant starts to haunt Mo's dreams, and she's pretty sure a mysterious spirit is attacking her home. With the help of a new friend, she embarks on an investigation that leads to more than she was prepared for.
This contemporary novel for middle grade readers seamlessly blends paranormal adventure with a realistic setting, and thoughtfully explores themes of family, friendship, and mental health.
