Monster Splash 2025
Join the City of Irvine for a spooktacular afternoon of Halloween fun at Monster Splash, Saturday, October 25, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center.
Families are invited to enjoy trick-or-treating around the pool decks, a floating pumpkin patch, and festive pumpkin-decorating stations. Brave the inflatable obstacle course, take a recreational swim, and capture memories at themed photo booths. Seasonal snacks and beverages will also be available for purchase.
Registration is $12 per child age 12 and younger and includes one pumpkin; adults are free. Lifeguards will be on duty. Children 6 and younger must be accompanied in the water by an adult, with one adult required per child.

Participate in Volunteer Projects throughout Irvine
The City of Irvine has partnered with Love Irvine for the fifth annual Love Irvine Citywide Serve Day Saturday, November 8, from 7:30 a.m. to noon. This partnership connects people who want to participate in volunteer opportunities at various nonprofit service providers, faith-based organizations, government entities, and schools.
There are more than 30 projects available, and many ways for residents to make a meaningful impact. The entire community is encouraged to come together and serve, creating a lasting difference in the City and beyond. A kickoff event will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Woodbridge Village Center, and afterward, volunteers will report to their respective volunteer locations.

City of Irvine Wall of Recognition Nominations
The nomination period for the 2025 City of Irvine Wall of Recognition is November 1–December 30. Residents are invited to nominate an individual or organization that has made a lasting impact on the Irvine community. This honor celebrates those who helped shape the City’s beginnings and those who continue to build upon its foundation of excellence for future generations.
Nomination forms and criteria are available through Community & Library Services at Civic Center West, 17101 Armstrong Ave., or online at cityofirvine.org/publicrecognition.
Completed applications must be submitted or postmarked by 5 p.m. Tuesday, December 30.

Ride Irvine CONNECT
Irvine CONNECT provides free, convenient shuttle service connecting community members between north Irvine and Irvine Station, with stops at parks, schools, hospitals, and shopping centers.
As of July 1, 2025, the route has expanded to serve even more neighborhoods — now reaching up to Portola Parkway. View the expanded route map.
Shuttles run every 20 minutes. Arrival times may vary based on traffic, weather, or ridership levels. For the most accurate, real-time route information, check the Passio GO! app or visit the link below to track the shuttles.

All Aboard for Holiday Fun!
Metrolink’s Holiday Express Train is back this December, bringing festive cheer and family fun to stations across Southern California — including Irvine Station.
Climb aboard a decorated train for a magical ride with carolers, holiday characters, interactive activities, and appearances by Santa and Mrs. Claus. Before boarding, enjoy crafts, treats, and entertainment at the station.

City of Irvine Now Offering Passport Services
The City of Irvine is now a designated Passport Acceptance Facility, providing residents with a convenient way to apply for new passports and passport photos at City Hall.
Appointments are available Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Office of Records and Information, located on the first floor of City Hall. Expanded hours are planned for early 2026. Customers may apply for a new passport book, passport card, or both, and on-site passport photo services are also available for added convenience.
The City Clerk’s Office led the effort to establish the facility, working with the U.S. Department of State to ensure staff certification and compliance with all requirements.

This Week in DE&I
There are many cultural and religious holidays celebrated and recognized throughout our community this month. Learn about some of the significant dates being observed in Irvine below and on our DE&I calendar.
October 16: Spirit Day — A day to support LGBTQ+ youth and stand against bullying. Participants wear purple and share messages of kindness using #SpiritDay and #ChooseKindness.
October 19–25: Invisible Disabilities Awareness Week — Raises awareness of disabilities that aren’t visible and promotes understanding and inclusion for all.
October 20: Diwali — The Festival of Lights celebrates the victory of good over evil. Families light lamps, exchange sweets, and honor the goddess Lakshmi for prosperity and happiness.
