Irvine Named a Clean California Community
The City of Irvine has been designated as one of the first 32 Clean California Communities in the state — and one of only four in Orange County — recognizing its ongoing commitment to sustainability and keeping Irvine clean and beautiful.
Part of the statewide Clean California Initiative, the designation honors cities that meet standards for litter prevention, beautification, and environmental enhancement. Irvine earned this recognition through programs that reduce single-use plastics and a rebate initiative encouraging residents to switch from gas-powered to battery-operated lawn equipment.
Irvine continues to lead in environmental innovation through its Climate Action and Adaptation Plan, which outlines steps toward a more sustainable future.
