Harvard Safety Improvements Project
The City of Irvine, in partnership with the City of Tustin, is leading the Harvard Safety Improvements Project to enhance safety, accessibility, and mobility along Harvard Avenue between Irvine Center Drive and Walnut Avenue. Improvements will support drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians while expanding transportation options.
Community members are invited to learn more and share feedback through:

Community Workshop: Tuesday, September 23, 5–7 p.m., Harvard Community Center

Pop-up Event: Saturday, September 27, 10 a.m.–1 p.m., Harvard Community Park (near the snack bar)
The project was identified in the City’s 2022 Local Roadway Safety Plan as a high-priority corridor for upgrades. Feedback gathered this fall will help shape the design and next steps.

 Mid-Autumn Festival at the Great Park
Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival Friday, September 26, from 5 to 9:30 p.m. at the Great Park. This free, family-friendly event features live performances, cultural demonstrations, children’s activities, and exhibits highlighting traditions from across East and Southeast Asia.
Also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, the holiday has been celebrated for thousands of years as a time of unity and gratitude. Guests can enjoy music, dance, and culinary experiences, including savory meals and sweet treats.
Sponsors include HMart, Synear Foods USA, UCI Health, Residence Inn & Courtyard by Marriott, 1983 Bakery, and Irvine Company.

Final Draft Climate Action and Adaptation Plan Available for Review
The City of Irvine has released a Final Draft Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP) to address the impacts of climate change and support a sustainable, resilient future.
Community members are invited to review the draft and share feedback by Friday, October 3, at 5 p.m. Comments may be submitted directly in the document or by email to EnvironmentalPrograms@cityofirvine.org.

Wild Rivers No Kids Day
Enjoy a special adults-only day at Wild Rivers Waterpark on Saturday, October 4, from noon to 6 p.m. This event is open to guests ages 21 and older only; valid ID is required at entry.
Receive $10 off per ticket when you purchase online by Tuesday, September 30, using password NOKIDS25. Tickets are valid only for October 4 and are not available through the general store.

Solarize Irvine: A Bright Idea for Your Home
The City of Irvine, in partnership with the nonprofit OC Goes Solar, offers Solarize Irvine — a program that provides group pricing discounts for solar power and battery storage to help support the City’s carbon neutrality goals.
Join a free virtual workshop Wednesday, October 1, at 6:30 p.m. to learn about solar panel systems, costs, federal tax credits, local incentives, and tips for selecting the right system. An interactive Q&A will follow.

Irvine Police Department Open House
The Irvine Police Department invites the community to an Open House Saturday, September 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Irvine Civic Center. This special event marks 50 years of service to the community.
Meet Irvine Police Officers and professional staff, enjoy K-9 and motorcycle demonstrations, and explore police vehicles up close. The event will feature activities for all ages, giveaways, and photo opportunities. The first 200 guests will receive a mystery gift.
Food trucks will be on-site offering lunch and snacks. Parking is available at Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park, Creekside High School, and Free Chapel, with free shuttle service provided from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

September 21: International Day of Peace — A United Nations observance dedicated to promoting peace and encouraging peaceful coexistence around the world.
September 22–24: Rosh Hashanah — The Jewish New Year, observed with prayer, reflection, and renewal, marking the beginning of the High Holy Days.
September 22–October 2: Navratri — A nine-day Hindu festival honoring the goddess Durga and celebrating the triumph of good over evil through prayer, rituals, and cultural traditions.
