Shred Event
Saturday, June 7, 9–11 a.m. Lakeview Senior Center, 20 Lake Road
In partnership with the City of Irvine, Waste Management is hosting a free paper-shredding event Saturday, June 7, 9–11 a.m. at Lakeview Senior Center. Irvine Residents can safely and securely dispose of up to five banker-size file boxes. The event is first-come, first-served, and will end early if the truck's capacity is reached. Customers who wish to watch their paper be shredded will need to park in a designated area away from the truck and staff.

2025 Cool Irvine Eco Fair
Saturday, June 14, 10 a.m.–1 p.m. Palm Court Arts Complex at The Great Park, 8000 Great Park Blvd. Join the 2025 Cool Irvine Eco Fair, a fun, family-friendly event celebrating planet-friendly living, and climate action. Hosted by Cool Irvine, in partnership with the City of Irvine and community partners, this interactive fair will feature compost demos, up-cycled arts & crafts, food trucks, and exciting opportunity drawings.
Learn about energy efficiency, solar, electric vehicles, and local incentives to make sustainable living easier. Explore water conservation tips, waste reduction, plant-based diets, and more.

This summer, join other motivated youth for a dynamic blend of interactive training and hands-on activities designed to build your leadership skills and climate knowledge. Choose from June or July sessions, complete just 10 hours of group training plus a few hours of independent work, and graduate with a certificate and celebration!

 Solarize Irvine Workshop
Monday, June 23, 6:30–8 p.m. Deerfield Community Center, 55 Deerwood West
Meet with experts on the benefits of going solar at your home. Take advantage of the 30% Federal Tax Credit for solar and batteries.
Learn about group discounts for solar, batter storage, and EV chargers. Improve your home value and maximize your energy bill savings. Meet and talk with community- screen solar contractors. Pre-event social with refreshments begins at 6 p.m. Educational workshop presentations kick off at 6:30 p.m.
OC Goes Solar is a nonprofit that assists neighbors go solar together by guiding the community to vet contractors, simplify equipment selection, and negotiate warranties and group discount pricing.

Residential Lawn and Garden Equipment Rebate
The City of Irvine has partnered with South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) to assist Irvine residents with their transition to zero-emission lawn and garden equipment.
Residential lawn and garden equipment rebates are now available for Irvine residents. Each household can receive up to three rebates over the lifetime of the program — but only for different pieces of equipment. The rebate cannot exceed the purchase price of the equipment (excluding taxes and delivery).

Calling All Irvine Small Businesses & Nonprofits
Apply today for a $500 Green Business Energy-Efficiency Mini-Grant.
This grant supports energy-efficient upgrades, such as Energy Star-rated appliances, EV chargers, LED lighting, smart thermostats, e-bikes, energy-efficient monitors, laptops, and more. This grant is open to all eligible Irvine Green Businesses and those who register and become a Green Business with the Irvine Green Business Program. This grant will help you save energy and money by making energy-efficient upgrades! Apply by July 1, 2025.
