You're invited to attend an upcoming community meeting to share your ideas and provide input on what’s next for the Irvine Public Library — whether it’s the location, building design, or spaces. Your input will be essential in ensuring that future branches and improvements reflect the needs and values of our diverse community.

A New Chapter Begins
The Irvine Public Library is anticipated to open the Heritage Park and University Park Library Branches Monday, August 4. Now operated by the City of Irvine, these refreshed spaces will offer expanded resources, updated programs, and a continued commitment to lifelong learning. More details to come as we turn the page toward reopening!

June 8 & 15: Pop-up Library
Drop in at the Heritage Community Park Middle School Program Office, 1–4 p.m., to get your library card, enjoy make-and-take crafts, and get familiar with Irvine Public Library's online resources.

June 9–July 31: Summer Reading Program
All ages are invited to track their time spent reading this summer to earn incentives between June 9 and July 31. Register online.

June 10, 12 & 17: Pajama Storytime
Cozy up for an evening of stories, songs, and family fun! Wear your favorite pajamas and bring a stuffed friend for this special library event designed to wind down the day with imagination and laughter. The fun starts at 6 p.m. at University Community Center.

June 14: Storytime in the Park
Enjoy stories, songs, and rhymes to boost early literacy at Northwood Community Park (Shelter #2) beginning at 10 a.m.

As the school year winds down, many families look forward to a break — but time away from the classroom can lead to the “summer slide,” where students lose some of the progress they made during the year. The good news? Just 15 to 30 minutes of learning activities a day can make a big difference. Our Senior Librarian for Children’s Services has shared some easy, effective strategies to keep young minds sharp all summer long.
