Traffic Signal Shutdown at Culver Drive and Alton Parkway
The traffic signals at the intersection of Culver Drive and Alton Parkway will be turned off Thursday, May 29, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for traffic signal work.
Every effort will be made to keep traffic flowing and minimize disruptions; however, significant delays are expected. Please consider using alternate routes.
This work is part of the Culver/Alton Intersection Improvement Project, which will enhance traffic flow through the intersection and improve signal timing coordination along the Culver Drive and Alton Parkway corridors.

Concrete Improvement on Armstrong
As part of the City’s ongoing effort to improve pedestrian access through the City, construction will begin on new public walkways in the Irvine Business Center neighborhood at 17101 Armstrong Avenue.
Work will begin Monday, June 2, and occur Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on curb and sidewalk areas.
When work requires traffic control in the public roadway, work will occur Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on residential streets and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on arterial streets.
At least 72 hours before work begins in the area, temporary “No Parking” signs will be posted on streets where work will occur showing the dates and times parking will be restricted. Vehicles parked in violation of a “No Parking” sign will be towed.
Every effort will be made to complete this essential work quickly to minimize any inconvenience.
The entire project is expected to be complete in July.

Civic Center Parking Lot Rehabilitation
The City continues to make improvements to the Civic Center Parking Lot, with Phase 4 beginning Wednesday, May 28.
Phase 4 work will continue on the northern lot with removed access to the main drive-through lane from Harvard. In addition, there will be no access to the parking lot from Harvard Avenue Wednesday, May 28, and Thursday, May 29, for nightly work from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Please utilize Alton Parkway to access the main parking lot.
The entire lot will be available Friday, May 30, through Sunday, June 1, to accommodate a softball tournament at Col. Bill Barber Memorial Park.
Phase 4 improvements include grinding, pavement, utility adjustments, and striping.
Phase 4 will have a significant impact on the availability of parking near the Civic Center entrance for approximately the next two weeks. Work will occur Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Additional parking is available off of Harvard Avenue and San Juan.
While the Civic Center parking lot will be impacted, access to City Hall and the Irvine Child Development Center will be maintained.
The project will consist of six phases and is anticipated to be complete in mid-July. Subsequent notifications will be provided as the project progresses.

MacArthur Street Rehabilitation
The City will be conducting pavement rehabilitation on all northbound and southbound lanes of MacArthur Boulevard between Jamboree Road and the SR-73 on-ramp Saturday, May 31 to Sunday, June 1 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Every effort will be made to keep traffic flowing and minimize disruptions but delays should be expected and motorists should consider using alternate routes during construction.

Woodbridge North Slurry Seal Operations
As part of the City’s ongoing effort to improve and maintain the quality of our roads, the City will begin pavement rehabilitation and slurry seal on public arterial, local, and residential streets in the Woodbridge North neighborhoods.
Work will begin Monday, June 2, and will occur weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on residential streets, and between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on arterial streets.
Work schedule for the Woodbridge North neighborhoods:
- Quadrant 1 and 2: June to July
- Quadrant 3 and 4: July to October
- West Yale Loop, Yale Avenue, and Warner Avenue: October to November
What to Expect
- At least 72 hours before work begins in your area, temporary “No Parking” signs will be posted where work will occur showing the dates and times parking will be restricted. Vehicles parked in violation of a “No Parking” sign will be towed. Parking is allowed on streets without “No Parking” signs.
- Trash services will occur on your normal service day even if work is scheduled.
- Schedules may change to accommodate weather conditions or unforeseen factors. If work does not occur on the posted date, it will be rescheduled and signs with new dates will be posted 72 hours before work begins.

SR-55 Improvement Project Dyer Road Closure
Orange County Transportation Authority crews will be closing the outside left-turn lane on eastbound Dyer Road and the inside left-turn lane on southbound Grand Avenue to accommodate pile driving activities in the median. This work will result in street closures through the next two weeks, approximately.
In addition, Orange County Transportation Authority crews will be pouring concrete to reconstruct the northbound State Route 55 (SR-55) Dyer Road on-ramp, which will require an extended closure of the on-ramp Tuesday, June 3, from 9 p.m. to Friday, June 13, at 5 a.m.
Detour signs will be posted in advance. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead before traveling through the area. View freeway detours.
Ramp Closures: State Route 133
The southbound State Route 133 (SR-133) connector to northbound I-5 will be fully closed through Friday, May 30, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
DETOUR: Exit on Irvine Boulevard and turn right. Turn left on Sand Canyon Avenue and turn right to take the on-ramp to northbound I-5.
