2025 Pride in Irvine: Celebrate with us May 22
Join the City of Irvine for the fourth annual Pride in Irvine, Thursday, May 22, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Civic Center Piazza. The event honors Harvey Milk Day and Pride Month, celebrating and supporting our LGBTQIA+ community.
Festivities will include the raising of the Progress Flag in front of City Hall, along with activities, educational resources, and opportunities to connect with local advocacy and support organizations. Enjoy refreshments, learn about valuable community programs, and celebrate Pride at this free, family-friendly event.

Engage with interactive displays showcasing original arcade cabinets, rare memorabilia, and behind-the-scenes insights into the game’s development.  Suggested Routes to School
The City of Irvine is working with Irvine Unified School District (IUSD), Tustin Unified School District (TUSD), and local schools to make it safer and easier for students to walk, bike, or roll to school.
Through the Suggested Routes to School (SRTS) program, all 45 public schools in Irvine will receive a customized assessment, map, and action plan to improve safety around campuses.

Children can climb aboard big trucks and machinery, earn prizes, and enjoy free giveaways. Food trucks will be on-site.

There are many cultural and religious holidays celebrated and recognized throughout our community this month. Learn about some of the significant dates being observed in Irvine below and on our DE&I calendar.
May 17: International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia — Observed annually on May 17, this day raises awareness about the discrimination and violence faced by LGBTQ+ communities around the world. First observed in 2004, it has become a global event promoting inclusion and equality.
May 19: Malcolm X’s Birthday — Born May 19, 1925, Malcolm X was a civil rights leader and human rights activist who worked to advance the rights of Black Americans and challenge racial discrimination.
May 20: Armed Forces Day — Observed on the third Saturday in May, this year on May 20, Armed Forces Day honors the men and women of the United States Armed Forces. Established in 1949, the day recognizes all military branches for their service and sacrifice.
