Stroll, Bike, and Roll as CicloIrvine Returns Saturday, May 3
The City of Irvine invites the community to enjoy a car-free day of biking, walking, and outdoor fun at CicloIrvine Saturday, May 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Campus Drive will come alive with live music, dance performances, and community activities on two stages. Highlights include high-energy sets from The Kings of 88 and Tijuana Dogs, along with cultural showcases, youth ensembles, and interactive experiences for all ages.
Campus Drive will be closed to vehicle traffic from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Detours will be in place. While businesses will remain open, driveway access along the route may be limited. Please check posted signs for parking restrictions and plan ahead.
Attendees will have the chance to take part in opportunity drawings throughout the day, including a special drawing during the welcome remarks that you won’t want to miss.

 Temporary Closure for Park Improvements
Adventure Playground, one of Irvine’s most unique and beloved parks, will be closed from May 5 through May 19 for scheduled maintenance and improvements. We appreciate your patience as we enhance this one-of-a-kind space for continued safe and fun adventures. The playground will reopen Monday, May 19. Call for Artists: Be Part of the 2025 Irvine Annual Exhibition
There is still time to submit applications for Irvine Annual — a juried art exhibition celebrating 41 years of showcasing California artists. Applications will be accepted through April 30. Selected works will be on display July 12 through August 30 at the Irvine Fine Arts Center.
Artists ages 18 and older working in a variety of visual media — including painting, photography, sculpture, fiber, mixed media, and more — are encouraged to apply. Please note that glass is not an eligible material, and all artwork must be wall-mounted.
Selected artists will be eligible for cash prizes and will have the opportunity to exhibit their work in a public gallery show, which will also feature community workshops and artist talks.

Grocery Food Box Available for Eligible Irvine Residents May 8
The City of Irvine is providing a free Grocery Food Box to qualifying residents Thursday, May 8, at Heritage Park Community Center. Each eligible adult will receive a 30-pound box packed with essential groceries, including canned fruits and vegetables, meat, rice, cereal, and more.
Pickup will take place from 9 a.m. to noon. Reservations are required, and eligibility is based on income guidelines.

This Week in DE&I
There are many cultural and religious holidays celebrated and recognized throughout our community this month. Learn about some of the significant dates being observed in Irvine below and on our DE&I calendar.
April 24: Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day — We remember the 1.5 million Armenians who perished during the genocide that began in 1915 under the Ottoman Empire. This day honors victims and raises awareness of historical injustices.
April 30: Denim Day — Show your support for survivors of sexual assault by wearing jeans on Denim Day. This international campaign challenges harmful myths and promotes a culture of consent and respect. Learn more at denimday.org.
April 24–26: Gathering of Nations — Held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Gathering of Nations is one of North America’s largest Native American powwows. The three-day celebration features dancing, drumming, cultural exhibits, and a showcase of Indigenous traditions from around the world.
