The future of transportation is taking flight — and it's happening right here in Irvine.
The Great Park Board recently authorized City staff to begin negotiations with Swyft Cities to bring Whoosh, a fully electric, autonomous aerial transport system, to life at the Great Park. This is an exciting step toward enhancing mobility, connectivity, and the overall visitor experience!
The Whoosh system will glide above ground at up to 30 mph, connecting major Great Park destinations like the Sports Complex, Balloon, Visitors Center, and the future Canopy shopping area to start. It’s not science fiction — it’s the future, and it’s coming to the Great Park.
Want a sneak peek? Be among the first to explore Whoosh in action through a digital experience at the State of the Great Park, Tuesday, May 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Great Park Live. This free, family-friendly event includes live music, refreshments, and updates from Great Park Board Chair Mike Carroll, Mayor Larry Agran, and Great Park Vice Chair William Go!
