April 16–23, 2025
In addition to the projects listed below that may impact your commute, you can find information on work being done to enhance our City on the Capital Improvement Projects Map and the Road Construction Map.
Civic Center Parking Lot Rehabilitation
The City continues to make improvements to the Civic Center Parking Lot. As part of the current construction phase, work will be shifting to the northern lot and will temporarily remove access to the main drive-through lane from Harvard.
Phase 3 improvements include construction of landscape islands at the end of each row along the main drive-through lane from Harvard. These areas affect grading and drainage and need to be installed before the irrigation and solar system conduits.
Phase 3 also includes upgrading the accessibility path in front of the Civic Center and removing the concrete bollards in front of the Civic Center and the Irvine Child Development Center (ICDC).
Phase 3 will have a significant impact on the availability of parking near the Civic Center entrance for approximately the next four weeks, weather permitting. Work will be done Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Additional parking is available off of Harvard Avenue and San Juan.
Access to City Hall and ICDC will be maintained while work is being done.
The entire project is expected to be completed in July.

SR-55 Improvement Project — Dyer Road Lane Closures
Orange County Transportation Authority crews will continue pile driving work along the outside lane of eastbound State Route 55 (SR-55) and northbound Grand Avenue. This work will require a closure of the outside lanes that started Thursday, April 10, and will be ongoing for approximately four weeks.
Detour signs will be posted in advance. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead before traveling through the area. View State Route 55 freeway detours.
