Saturday, April 26, 8 a.m.–2 p.m. O’Reilly Auto Center, 15315 Culver Drive Exchange a used oil filter for a new one (limit one per person). Please drain the filter for at least 24 hours.

Induction Cooking Workshop
Wednesday, April 30, 6–7:30 p.m. Irvine Fine Arts Center, 14321 Yale Avenue Chef Katie Chin will demonstrate cooking on an electric induction cooktop. Register online.

Early Voting for the April 15 Special Municipal Election Begins April 5 at Irvine Civic Center
Early voting for the April 15 Special Municipal Election is underway. Starting Saturday, April 5, registered voters can cast their ballots in person at the Irvine Civic Center, 1 Civic Center Plaza.
Voters in Woodbridge, University Park, Rancho San Joaquin, and portions of Westpark south of Barranca Parkway will elect a Councilmember to represent Council District 5 through the end of 2026.
In addition to voting in person, voters may:
- Drop completed ballots in secure Ballot Drop Boxes located at Rancho Senior Center or University Park Library.
- Mail completed ballots — no postage required.
A second Vote Center will open at University Community Center beginning Friday, April 12.

Grocery Food Box Available for Eligible Irvine Residents April 10
The City of Irvine is providing a free Grocery Food Box to qualifying residents on Thursday, April 10, at Heritage Park Community Center. Each eligible adult will receive a 30-pound box packed with essential groceries, including canned fruits and vegetables, meat, rice, cereal, and more.
Pick-up will take place from 9 a.m. to noon. Reservations are required and eligibility is based on income guidelines.

Explore Irvine on Two Wheels at the Community Bike Tour
The City of Irvine, in partnership with the Orange County Cycling Business Coalition, invites community members to participate in a Community Bike Tour Friday, April 25, from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
Participants can choose between a family-friendly 5-mile loop or a 25-mile ride along Irvine’s scenic bikeways. Both rides will begin and end at Irvine Station, located at 15215 Barranca Parkway.
Check-in will take place from 2 to 2:30 p.m., with rides starting promptly at 2:30 p.m.
This free event is open to all levels of cyclists, from beginners to experienced riders. Registration is required.
Helmets are required for riders 17 and younger and strongly recommended for those 18 and older.

Applications Open for 2025 Irvine Annual, Celebrating 41 years of art
The City of Irvine is accepting submissions for the 2025 Irvine Annual, a juried exhibition featuring California artists. The exhibition runs July 12 to August 30 at the Irvine Fine Arts Center.
Artists ages 18 and older are invited to submit wall-mounted artwork in a variety of visual media. Glass is not eligible.
Applications are open April 1–30 at artsinirvine.org/irvineannual.
Now in its 41st year, the Irvine Annual is one of Southern California’s longest-running art exhibitions, showcasing both emerging and established artists.

City Seeks Applicants for Health and Wellness Advisory Committee
The City of Irvine is accepting applications for a volunteer Member-at-Large position on the new Health and Wellness Advisory Committee.
The committee will advise the Irvine City Council on topics including youth and family services, housing assistance, and mental health. It will consist of seven City Council appointees, one Member-at-Large, and representatives from Irvine Unified School District, Tustin Unified School District, and Irvine Valley College.
Meetings will be held quarterly from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Irvine Civic Center or other City facilities. The term runs from May 2025 through February 2027.
Applications are due by 5 p.m. Thursday, April 17.

Baby Gift Drive
The City of Irvine and the Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee are hosting the annual Baby Gift Drive to benefit the adopted 2/11 Marine Battalion. This initiative provides essential supplies, support, and care for Marine families. Donating new and unopened items such as bounce seats, breast pumps, baby monitors, baby carriers, diapers, and wipes can make a meaningful difference for parents welcoming a new baby home.
Shop locally or purchase items online from the to donate to the Baby Gift Drive. This effort offers an opportunity to express gratitude to the brave men and women of the 2/11 Marine Battalion and their families.
Donations may be dropped off through Friday, May 16, at the following locations during designated hours:

Boots & Brews Country Music Festival Comes to Great Park Live
The popular Boots & Brews Country Music Festival returns to Irvine on Friday, April 11, from 5 to 10 p.m. at Great Park Live.
Boots & Brews is more than just a concert — it’s a celebration of friends, cold drinks, and country music. Attendees are invited to put on their dancing boots and enjoy an evening of live performances, food, and fun in the heart of Great Park.

This Week in DE&I
There are many cultural and religious holidays celebrated and recognized throughout our community this month. Learn about some of the significant dates being observed in Irvine below and on our DE&I calendar.
April 4: LGBTQ+ National Day of Silence — A day to raise awareness of bullying and harassment faced by LGBTQ+ individuals. Participants take a vow of silence to stand in solidarity and promote acceptance.
April 10: Mahavir Jayanti — Jain community members celebrate the birth of Lord Mahavir with prayers, processions, and acts of kindness, honoring his teachings of non-violence and compassion.
