Egg-a-POOL-Looza Spring Celebration
The City of Irvine invites you to Egg-a-POOL-Looza, a spring celebration featuring egg hunts, swimming, crafts, face painting, bounce houses, and free train rides.
Date: Saturday, April 5, 1–5 p.m. Location: William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center, 4601 Walnut Ave.
Registration required: $12 per child (14 and younger). Kids age 6 and under must have one adult per child for water activities. Lifeguards will be on duty.

Volunteer at CicloIrvine
Be part of CicloIrvine, a unique community event transforming 1.4 miles of Campus Drive into a car-free zone. Volunteers (ages 14 and older) are needed from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 3, to support logistics, event stations, entertainment, and registration. Make a meaningful impact by volunteering individually or with a group.

Flying Leatherneck Museum Welcomes Historic Harrier
The Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum welcomed a Boeing AV-8B Harrier March 14. One of two survivors from the 2012 Taliban attack at Camp Bastion, this aircraft honors the bravery of Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 211 — the Wake Island Avengers. Visit and reflect on this significant piece of history.

Second Class IV Protected Bikeway Coming to Irvine
As part of the City’s continued efforts to enhance the bicycle infrastructure in Irvine, construction will begin Monday, March 31, on the second Class IV Protected Bikeway in our community.
A lane dedicated to bicyclists that is physically separated from drivers on the road, the bikeway will be on Phantom between Ridge Valley and Corsair. Work will be done weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through mid-April.
No full road closures are anticipated. Noise and temporary traffic shifts are expected; alternate routes are suggested.

Attend a Virtual Fair Housing Workshop on April 8
The City of Irvine, in partnership with the Fair Housing Foundation, invites tenants, landlords, property managers, and community members to attend a free virtual Fair Housing Workshop Tuesday, April 8, from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
Participants will learn about important housing topics such as rental applications, discrimination, modifications and accommodations, evictions, security deposits, repairs, rent increases, and occupancy standards.

This Week in DE&I
There are many cultural and religious holidays celebrated and recognized throughout our community this month. Learn about some of the significant dates being observed in Irvine below and on our DE&I calendar.
March 29: Vietnam War Veterans Day — Honors veterans who served during the Vietnam War (1955-1975). It is a day to thank them for their service and remember their sacrifices. Common events include flag-raisings and wreath-laying ceremonies.
March 31: Cesar Chavez Day — Honors Cesar Chavez, a labor leader who fought for farm workers' rights. Celebrations include community service, educational events, and activities promoting workers' rights and equality.
March 31: Transgender Day of Visibility — Celebrates the transgender community and raises awareness about their contributions and challenges.
