Jeffrey Open Space Trail Bicycle & Pedestrian Bridge Freeway Impacts
As construction on the Jeffrey Open Space Trail (JOST) Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge continues, crews will be placing concrete within the bridge structure. This work will require temporary lane closures along the I-5 Freeway. Additionally, both northbound and southbound off-ramps at Jeffrey Road will be closed.
Overnight closures will be in place for:
- Partial lane closures of northbound and southbound I-5 Freeway from Culver Drive to Sand Canyon Avenue
- Northbound and southbound I-5 Freeway off-ramps at Jeffrey Road
Work will be done:
- Wednesday, March 26, from 9 p.m. to Thursday, March 27, at 7 a.m.
- Thursday, March 27, from 9 p.m. to Friday, March 28, at 7 a.m.

Civic Center Parking Lot Rehabilitation
The City continues to make improvements to the Irvine Civic Center Parking Lot. Phase 2 of the project, which started Tuesday, March 17, includes upgrading the storm drain system and installing water quality units, underground conduits for future carports, and concrete curb for new planter areas.
Phase 2 will impact parking availability near the Civic Center entrance for approximately the next six weeks, weather permitting. Work will be done Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Additional parking is available off of Harvard Avenue and San Juan.
While the Civic Center parking lot will be impacted, access to City Hall and the Irvine Child Development Center (ICDC) will be maintained.
The entire project is expected to be complete in July.

Phantom Class IV Protected Bikeway
The City is continuing to make improvements to Irvine’s bicycle infrastructure with the construction of its second Class IV protected bikeway, which features a physical barrier between drivers and cyclists.
Work is scheduled to begin Monday, March 31, and continue through mid-April. Work will be done Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
No full road closures are anticipated; however, temporary traffic control will reduce and shift travel lanes around work areas. Please use alternate routes when possible.

SR-55 Improvement Project – Northbound Dyer Road On- and Off-Ramp Extended Closure
Orange County Transportation Authority crews will be replacing the pavement along the northbound State Route 55 (SR-55) Dyer Road on- and off-ramps, which will require an extended closure of the ramp and the outside lane on northbound SR-55 between MacArthur Boulevard and Dyer Road.
The outside lane and on- and off-ramps are expected to be closed Friday, March 21, at 9 p.m. to Monday, March 24, at 5 a.m.
Additionally, to accommodate ongoing pile driving operations, the outside left-turn lane on eastbound Dyer Road, as well as the outside lane on northbound Grand Avenue will be closed. This work will begin as soon as Monday, March 24, and will remain closed for approximately two weeks.
Detour signs will be posted in advance. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead before traveling through the area. View the latest closures and detours.
Nightly Closure: Southbound State Route 133 Connector to Northbound I-5
Overnight closures of the southbound State Route 133 connector to the northbound I-5 Freeway continue through Tuesday, March 25, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
DETOUR: Exit on Irvine Boulevard and turn right. Turn left on Sand Canyon Avenue and turn right to take the on-ramp to northbound 5.
Nightly Ramp Closures: State Route 73
The Newport Coast Drive off-ramp from northbound State Route 73 (SR-73) will be closed through Friday, March 21, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
DETOUR: Exit on Bonita Canyon Road and turn left. Turn left to take the on-ramp to southbound SR-73 and exit on Newport Coast Drive.
The Bison Avenue on-ramp from southbound SR-73 will be closed through Tuesday, March 25, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
DETOUR: Turn right on MacArthur Boulevard and then left on Bonita Canyon Road. Turn right to take the on-ramp to southbound SR-73.
