Mayor Larry Agran delivered the 2025 State of the City Address before a full audience in the Council Chamber, declaring Irvine’s future bright and setting ambitious goals to ensure the City remains a national leader.
Reflecting on Irvine’s legacy as a master-planned community built through strategic planning and collaboration, Mayor Agran outlined his vision for Irvine as the Safest, Smartest, Greenest, Healthiest, and Kindest City in America.

Voting Set to Begin for Special Municipal Election
The City of Irvine will hold a Special Municipal Election Tuesday, April 15, for a Councilmember to represent Council District 5 through the end of 2026.
Registered voters in the communities of Woodbridge, University Park, Rancho San Joaquin, and portions of Westpark south of Barranca Parkway will receive their combined voter information guide and vote-by-mail ballot beginning March 17.
Ballots can be mailed (no postage required) or dropped off at one of these Ballot Drop Box locations starting March 17:
