Overnight I-5 Freeway Lane, Off-ramp Closures
This weekend, there will be partial lane closures on the northbound and southbound I-5 Freeway between Culver Drive and Sand Canyon Avenue while crews pour concrete within the Jeffrey Open Space Trail Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge structure.
In addition, both the northbound and southbound off-ramps at Jeffrey Road will be closed. Work will be done:
- Friday, January 31, from 9 p.m. to Saturday, February 1, at 7 a.m.
- Saturday, February 1, from 9 p.m. to Sunday, February 2, at 7 a.m.
Access to area residences and businesses will be maintained; however, there will be no access to the northbound and southbound I-5 Freeway off-ramps at Jeffrey Road during the overnight closure.

Jeffrey & Alton Intersection Improvements: On-Going Work
As part of the Jeffrey/Alton Intersection Improvement project, one left-turn lane in each direction along Alton Parkway at Jeffrey Road will be closed through late February. Work is being done Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Crews are removing and replacing asphalt pavement, curb and gutter, curb ramps, and sidewalk, as well as modifying traffic signal equipment at the intersection of Jeffrey Road and Alton Parkway.
Every effort will be made to keep traffic flowing and minimize disruptions during the work, but delays should be expected, and motorists should consider using alternate routes. The entire project is anticipated to be complete in May.
Nightly Closure: Southbound State Route 133 Connector to Northbound I-5
The southbound State Route 133 (SR-133) connector to northbound I-5 Freeway will be fully closed nightly through Thursday, January 30, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Friday, January 31, from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Detour: Exit on Irvine Boulevard and turn right. Turn left onto Sand Canyon Avenue and continue straight. Turn right to take the on-ramp to northbound I-5 Freeway.
Curb Ramp Improvements
The City of Irvine is working to improve several curb ramps to enhance accessibility. Work is being done from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the following locations. Please note trails will be closed until the work is completed.

Amargosa at the Venta Spur Trail: Access to the trail will be temporarily closed through Friday, January 31.

Bryan and El Camino Real: Detour signs will be in place through Friday, January 31.

Creek Road at the San Diego Creek Trail: Access to the trail will be closed from Monday, February 3, to Friday, February 7.
Northbound MacArthur Boulevard On-Ramp Extended Closure
Crews will be pouring concrete to reconstruct the northbound SR-55 MacArthur Boulevard loop on-ramp, which will require an extended closure of the ramp. The on-ramp is expected to close as early as 5 a.m., Monday, February 3, and reopen to motorists by 5 a.m., Thursday, February 13.
The work is being done by OCTA in cooperation with Caltrans to improve 4 miles of SR-55 between the I-405 and I-5 Freeways. The project will add one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction to help with traffic flow and improve mobility. Please visit octa.net/55Construction for more information.
Weekend Closure of the Southbound State Route 133
Caltrans will close the southbound State Route 133 (SR-133) between the I-5 and I-405 Freeways for 55 hours beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, January 31, to 5 a.m. Monday, February 3. The closure is part of a project to construct a new auxiliary lane. Detour signage will be in place to assist motorists.

- Southbound I-5 connector to southbound SR-133 — Barranca Parkway exit to remain open.
- Southbound SR-133 to northbound I-405 connector — full ramp closure.
- Southbound SR-133 on-ramp from Barranca Parkway — full ramp closure.
- Southbound SR-133 directional freeway closure from I-5 to I-405.
