SR-55 MacArthur Boulevard On-Ramp Closure
Crews are pouring concrete to reconstruct the northbound SR-55 MacArthur Boulevard straight on-ramp, which requires an extended closure of the ramp. The on-ramp is closed and will reopen to motorists Thursday, December 19, by 5 a.m. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.
The work being done is part of the SR-55 (I-405 to I-5) Improvement Project. The Orange County Transportation Authority, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5 Freeways. The project will add one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction to help with traffic flow and improve mobility. In addition, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges.

Walnut Avenue Overnight Closure
Walnut Avenue, south of Jeffrey Road, will be completely closed overnight Wednesday, December 18, at 9 p.m. to Thursday, December 19, at 5 a.m. to work on the Jeffrey Open Space Trail (JOST) Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge.
Access to area residences and businesses will be maintained; however, there will be no access to the southbound I-5 Freeway on- and off-ramps or Caltrans Park & Ride during the overnight closure hours.
The entire project is anticipated to be complete in March 2026.

Woodbridge North Roadway Improvements
Pavement rehabilitation and slurry seal will be done on public arterial and residential streets in the community of Woodbridge North. The work includes concrete repairs to various curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and access ramps, as well as resetting manhole and water valve covers on repaved streets.
The project began Monday, December 9, and will be complete this winter. Work will take place Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on residential streets and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on arterial streets.
At least 72 hours before work begins in an area, temporary “No Parking” signs will be posted where work will occur showing the dates and times parking will be restricted.
Every effort will be made to keep traffic flowing and minimize disruptions during the work; however, delays should be expected, and motorists should consider using alternate routes.

Traffic Signal Shutdown at Bryan Avenue and Marketplace
The traffic signal at the intersection of Bryan Avenue and Marketplace will be turned off or placed in red flash mode while work on the signal is underway Tuesday, December 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The traffic signal at the intersection of Campus and Berkeley will be turned off or placed in red flash mode Tuesday, December 17, to Friday, December 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to replace the signal.

Jeffrey Road and Alton Parkway Bike Lane Closure
The bike lane in the northbound direction on Jeffrey Road just south of the Alton Parkway intersection is closed Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., through December.
Part of the Jeffrey Road and Alton Parkway intersection improvement project, the work includes curb, gutter, sidewalk, irrigation, and paving renovations. All work will be done behind K-rail.
The expected project completion date is May 2025. Every effort will be made to keep traffic flowing and minimize disruptions during the work; however, delays should be expected, and motorists should consider using alternate routes.
