Mayor-elect Larry Agran, Councilmember Mike Carroll, and Councilmembers-elect William Go, Melinda Liu, and James Mai will be sworn into office for their respective terms.
The City Council meeting will begin at 4 p.m., and a recess will be taken from approximately 5 to 6 p.m. for a welcome reception in the City Hall lobby. The Council meeting will resume after the reception at 6 p.m. for the swearing-in ceremony.

Santa Loves Hearing from his Friends!
Santa’s Mailbox is open through December 13. Drop off your letters at one of Santa’s mailboxes, and his holiday helpers will make sure every letter gets a magical reply.

Drive into the holiday spirit! Join the City of Irvine and the Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee for the Holiday Toy Drive: Drive-Thru Drop-Off Sunday, December 8, and make this season extra special for families of Irvine’s adopted 2nd Battalion, 11th Marines (2/11) Division.

Irvine Animal Care Center Holiday Donation Drive
Your support empowers the Irvine Animal Care Center to care for the pets that need it most. Thanks to your generosity, the center is able to make merry, happy outcomes for pets and other animals in challenging situations through its Enhanced Care, Third Chance for Pets, and Foster Care programs.
Through January 15, you can donate to the center's annual Holiday Donation Drive and help make a difference in the lives of pets in need.

Human Rights Day is observed annually around the world on December 10. It commemorates the anniversary of one of the world's most groundbreaking global pledges: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). This landmark document enshrines the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being regardless of race, color, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth, or other status.
