For the Love of Vinyl
Enjoy the live music event Jazz in the Palm Court: For the Love of Vinyl, Sunday, October 27, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Great Park.
In support of the Great Park Gallery exhibition Thank You, Good Night: Concert Photography, this event will feature live jazz renditions of beloved hit songs from the 1960s to today. Local vendor Resident Vinyl will host a pop-up vinyl record shop. Event visitors will also have a chance to engage in an arts and crafts activity by creating their own original artworks on vinyl record sleeves, re-imagining the album artworks of their favorite artists!

Cast Your Ballots Early
The General Municipal Election will be held Tuesday, November 5, and Orange County voters can cast their ballots early at Irvine Vote Centers and Ballot Drop Boxes.
The upcoming election will be the City of Irvine's first district-based election. All registered Irvine voters will have the opportunity to vote for Mayor. Voters in Districts 1, 2, 3, and 4 will have the opportunity to elect a Councilmember to represent their districts. Voters in Districts 5 and 6 will continue to be represented by Councilmembers at-large until November 2026.

Safely Discard Unwanted Prescription Medications
Discard your unwanted prescription medications by joining the Irvine Police Department (IPD) on National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, Saturday, October 26. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., you can anonymously dispose of unwanted prescription medications, tackling a critical public safety issue.
Collection sites are located at the Irvine Police Department and at Hoag Health Center in Irvine. IPD encourages residents to bring expired or unused medications to prevent misuse, abuse, or accidental poisoning.

Join the Irvine Sports Committee
The City of Irvine is accepting applications to fill two volunteer member-at-large vacancies on the Irvine Sports Committee. The committee is composed of representatives from Irvine’s youth sports organizations. It provides the City Council and the Community Services Commission with input and feedback on policies, programs, facilities, and the needs of the Irvine youth sports community.
Completed applications must be submitted online by October 21 at 5 p.m. For more details, cityofirvine.org/athletics.

October 2-4 Rosh Hashanah Rosh Hashanah is a significant Jewish holiday that marks the beginning of the Jewish New Year. The name "Rosh Hashanah" translates to "Head of the Year" in Hebrew. It is a time of reflection, repentance, and renewal, and it falls on the first and second days of the Hebrew month of Tishrei, which usually corresponds to September or October. During Rosh Hashanah, Jewish communities around the world come together for special prayers, synagogue services, and festive meals.
