Jeffrey Open Space Trail
I-5 Bicycle & Pedestrian Bridge Project

Jeffrey Open Space Trail Bridge Map

Work continues on the Jeffrey Open Space Trail (JOST) I-5 Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge Project, which will provide a key linkage between trails extending from the coast to the mountains.

As part of this effort, pile-driving activities will be underway this weekend, June 29-30, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting.

This work will result in elevated construction noise and multiple lane closures on the I-5 Freeway. The northbound and southbound HOV and #1 lanes on the I-5 Freeway between Sand Canyon Avenue and Culver Drive will be closed.

Access to area residences and businesses will be maintained during the work.

Pile driving is a common method of constructing structure foundations. To support the structure, steel or concrete piles are driven into the soil until a hard layer of earth is reached beneath the structure foundation. This process results in elevated construction noise levels.

Jamboree Pavement Rehabilitation

Pavement work begins this week along Jamboree Road, from Michelle Drive to the railroad tracks (City limit). This construction will continue through the end of July from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The project will occur on the Jamboree mainline near Walnut Avenue, behind permanent k-rail closures.

Every effort will be made to keep traffic flowing and minimize disruptions during the work, however delays should be expected; motorists should consider using alternate routes.
