Free Event Series Kicks off June 27
Are you ready for some summer fun? The City of Irvine is celebrating the summer season with Summer in the City. Beginning June 27, the community can attend free, family-friendly activities held throughout June, July, and August at Irvine parks.
Enjoy outdoor movie nights under the stars with Movies on the Lawn, or groove to live music at Summer Concerts and Symphony in the Cities. Events will be held at Mike Ward Community Park — Woodbridge, and Great Park Live amphitheater at the Great Park.
All Summer in the City events are free (no tickets or pre-registration required). Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests should bring low-back chairs and blankets; layered clothing is recommended. For a lineup of events, visit cityofirvine.org/summer.
Honor a Loved one Through our Field of Valor
Members of the community are invited to honor veterans, active duty, or fallen service members by either sponsoring a flag or visiting the flag display in our Fourth of July Field of Valor event, July 1-14, at the Irvine Civic Center Lawn.
Each flag can be sponsored for $65, through June 21 and are available on a first-come, first-served basis, at cityofirvine.org/fieldofvalor.
Proceeds benefit the Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee. Learn more at cityofirvine.org/fieldofvalor.
Gardening Gives Back
The Farm + Food Lab at the Great Park is a unique and interactive outdoor classroom for visitors of all ages. Discover how it has become a special place to learn about urban gardening, composting, and more, while also contributing to the community by providing fresh produce to local food pantries.
Solutions for Urban Agriculture, the nonprofit organization behind the Farm + Food Lab, will play an important role in bringing the Great Park Framework Plan to life as it continues to bring the agricultural wonders of the world to life as a community-based asset and amenity.
