Great Park All-Wheeled Plaza Community Town Hall

The City of Irvine is conducting a concept development and feasibility study for a new all-wheeled plaza at the Great Park. This designed space has the potential to be one of the finest in the country, with multiple amenities to attract wheeled action sports from bikes and skateboards, to scooters and wheelchairs.

The community’s input and ideas are crucial as we shape the vision and future of the Great Park. The City has engaged a skate park and landscape design team, and together with your input, we can create a space that truly reflects the needs and aspirations of our vibrant community.

Join the Community Listening & Feedback Town Hall Thursday, February 29, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Portola Springs Community Park to share your input on the all-wheeled plaza.

You can also share your feedback by emailing Ryan Painter at rpainter@cityofirvine.org. Learn more at cityofirvine.org/greatparkframework.

Orange County Sanitation District

Learn about your Water

Wondering what happens to the water once it goes down the drain? Wonder no more. Hear directly from the people who work at Orange County Sanitation District (OC San) through their Wastewater 101 Citizens Academy.

As the regional wastewater treatment agency responsible for safely collecting, treating, and disposing the wastewater generated by 2.6 million people living in a 479-square-mile area of central and northwest Orange County, there are so many pieces of what the agency does. This academy will break down all pieces of OC San so that you can walk away with a better understanding of what they do, how they do it, and why they do it.

Visit ocsan.gov/wastewater101 to sign up.

February 15: Susan B. Anthony’s Birthday

Susan B. Anthony was a prominent American civil rights leader who fought for women's suffrage and equal rights in the 19th century. She was born in 1820 and died in 1906. She co-founded the National Women's Suffrage Association and was also a member of the American Anti-Slavery Society. In 1872, she was arrested for voting in the presidential election, which was illegal for women at the time. Her activism and trial helped bring national attention to the women's suffrage movement.
