Improve Your Home with the One Irvine Program

The City of Irvine is resuming its One Irvine home revitalization program February 1. One Irvine focuses resources in Irvine's older neighborhoods, aiming to involve residents in community-led reinvestment and revitalization efforts.

Owners of qualifying single-family homes and condominiums constructed in or before 1975 will be able to access additional funds through One Irvine’s home improvement loan program. The loans can be used for projects related to critical repairs or sustainability – including solar panels.

Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis starting Thursday, February 1, at 10 a.m. They must be submitted online, and funding is limited.

For more information about the program or to access the application, please visit cityofirvine.org/oneirvine or call 949-724-6114.

Organics Recycling

Are you Recycling Right?

Are you complying with the organic waste recycling law, SB 1383?

This law requires every resident and business to recycle organic waste in an effort to reduce methane emissions. Organic waste in landfills emits 20% of the state’s methane, a pollutant 84 times more potent than carbon dioxide. By diverting organics, such as food scraps, yard trimmings, paper, and cardboard from landfills, the state can reduce emissions and combat climate change.

You can learn more about organic waste recycling by reading our materials or watching our videos on the following topics:

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

January 27: International Holocaust Remembrance Day

International Holocaust Remembrance Day is a day of commemoration for the victims of the Holocaust, which was the systematic, state-sponsored persecution of millions of Jews and other minority groups by the Nazi regime during World War II. The day is observed on January 27, the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, events are held around the world to remember and honor the victims of the Holocaust and to educate people about this time in history. The day is also an opportunity to reaffirm the commitment to preventing future genocides and to promoting human rights and dignity for all.
