Enjoy a Kaleidoscope of Sound Under the Palm Trees at Jazz in the Palm Court.

Jazz in the Palm Court is a three-part, live music series inspired by the diverse voices and rich textures of the Great Park Gallery exhibition, Natural Language: Contemporary Book Art.  

You're invited to Jazz in the Palm Court — a three-part series that features gifted, local musicians weaving a compelling sonic narrative echoing the diverse voices and textures explored in Natural Language: Contemporary Book Art, on view at the Great Park Gallery beginning February 11.

The Palm Court Arts Complex will be transformed into a stage for a live symphony of complex blues and swing notes that define the evocative sound of jazz.

This free, family-friendly event series will take place on the following dates and times:

• Saturday, February 17, 1–3 p.m.
• Saturday, March 9, 1–3 p.m.
• Saturday, April 20, 1–3 p.m.

Bring folding chairs and blankets for seating around the Gallery and Palm Court; no advance registration is needed.

Attend the Opening Reception of Natural Language: Contemporary Book Art at the Great Park Gallery Natural Language: Contemporary Book Art opens Sunday, February 11, from 1 to 3 p.m.* at the Great Park Gallery.  This brand new exhibition features an evocative collection of artists' books — complex, visual mediums that challenge the traditional book format by becoming sculptural objects that invite audiences into the unique world of the artist.  Natural Language: Contemporary Book Art is curated in collaboration with UCI Special Collections and artists from around the world — bringing together cross-cultural perspectives through artistic excellence. The Great Park Gallery is open: Thursday–Friday, Noon–4 p.m. Saturday–Sunday, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Visit yourgreatpark.org/arts to learn more.  *The January Great Park Newsletter incorrectly listed the opening reception as January 28.
