Brian King and Pete Carmichael Named Assistant City Managers for the City of Irvine
|

Irvine City Manager Oliver C. Chi has appointed two highly experienced employees to serve as Assistant City Managers.
Former Deputy Director of Human Resources Brian King and former Great Park Executive Director Pete Carmichael join Chi and Assistant City Manager Michelle Grettenberg in helping to guide California’s 13th largest City and address current and ongoing priorities, including building Great Park, addressing the community’s health and wellness needs, and expanding sustainability efforts.
King's responsibilities include health and wellness operations, social service coordination, and organizational culture. Carmichael oversees economic development, real property management, and Great Park development. Grettenberg provides support to the City Council and oversees legislative advocacy and performance management. Learn more.

Share Your Thoughts on Irvine's Climate-Smart Future
|
The City of Irvine is developing its first Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP) to reduce emissions and set a pathway to achieve climate goals across the City.
Take the online community survey to share your input on potential greenhouse gas emission reduction strategies, mitigation measures, and to help us better understand community priorities. Input from the survey will be used to form the adaptation and mitigation measures in the draft CAAP.

Utility Users Tax Rebate for Irvine Businesses
|
Do you own a business in Irvine? Your business may qualify for a rebate for the Utility Users Tax paid in Fiscal Year 2021-22.
The Utility Users Tax is a 1.5% tax added to all business electricity, gas, and phone bills. This tax is not added to residents’ bills. This rebate is only for the City tax paid, not the entire bill.
The rebate will only apply to taxes paid while a business held a valid business license between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022. For more information, visit cityofirvine.org/UUTRebate.

Recycle Your E-Waste Items
|
Do you have unwanted electronic devices? The City of Irvine and Orange County United Way have partnered with Procurri and Ingram Micro to host an e-waste drop off recycling event March 11, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Irvine Valley College.
Proceeds from the recycled items will support Orange County United Way’s work to ensure local underserved students have the support they need to succeed; struggling Orange County families gain financial security; and our Orange County homeless neighbors find a place to call home.
Accepted items at the event include: telephones; computers; peripherals; tablets; smartphones; smartwatches; shredders; radios; LCD/flatscreen TVs; LCD monitors; printers; scanners; projectors; hard drives; stereo equipment.

Join the Irvine Multicultural Association
|
Join the Irvine Multicultural Association (IMA) to help promote harmony and understanding for a better, enlightened community.
IMA is a program designed for Irvine's senior residents and offers educational resources and social functions for the community. Each month, different cultures are explored and highlighted through programs such as the International Film Series and the English Mentoring Program.
