Utensils and Condiments Drive

Utensils and Condiments Drive

The City of Irvine is partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank Orange County to collect sealed, unused takeout utensil packs and unopened condiment packets that many of us receive but do not need, and put these items to good use.

Donations will be used by Second Harvest in meal programs and can be dropped off Monday, January 9, through Thursday, February 9, at these locations:

  • Irvine City Hall

  • Great Park Visitors Center

  • Lakeview Senior Center

  • Portola Community Center

  • University Community Center

Revisit Old Town Irvine

On December 28, the City of Irvine turned 51! Take a look back on our small-town origins by visiting "Old Town Irvine," the current art exhibition on display at City Hall. It features images such as this one of the Irvine General Store, which was built in 1912.

View the exhibition, which is presented in collaboration with the Irvine Historical Society and features photographs by visual documentarian Rene Laursen and selections from UCI Libraries, through Friday, March 17.

City Hall is open to the public 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Monday–Thursday and 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Friday. The exhibition and parking are free.

End poverty in all its forms

National Poverty in America Awareness Month

National Poverty in America Awareness Month is an opportunity for people to come together to raise awareness about poverty and its effects on individuals, families, and communities.

If you would like to help those in need in our community, volunteers are needed for Meals on Wheels, and there are also numerous Irvine-based organizations that accept donations and/or volunteers, including Families Forward, South County Outreach, and Second Harvest Food Bank Orange County.

If you are in need of assistance, view a list of resources available to residents.
