Toy Drive

Brighten the Holidays for Military Families

Join the City of Irvine and the Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee in brightening the season for military families. The annual holiday Toy Drive benefits families of Irvine’s adopted 2/11 Marine Battalion. Help bring joy to these families during the holidays by donating a new, unwrapped gift suitable for infants or children ages 12 and younger.

Donations can be dropped off through Wednesday, December 14, during business hours at the locations below:

  • Irvine City Hall & Irvine Police Department
    Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

  • Great Park Visitors Center
    Daily, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Donations can also be dropped off during two drive-thru drop-off events at the Irvine Civic Center Sunday, December 4, and Saturday, December 10, from 9 a.m. to noon.

America Recycles Day

Celebrate America Recycles Day

Celebrate America Recycles Day November 15 with the City of Irvine! Every year, this national day aims to spread awareness on how to recycle, which recycled products to buy, and how to reduce waste. Recycling is just one way our City is working to create a climate-safe future and become carbon neutral by 2030.

Stop by City Hall Tuesday, November 15, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and visit Environmental Programs’ booth in the lobby to learn new facts, test your recycling trivia, and win a sustainable prize! You can also learn more about recycling on our website.

In addition, you can support Irvine's climate initiatives by joining the Cool Block Program, an initiative where residents lead their neighbors through a shared learning program to improve sustainability and quality of life in their own neighborhoods.

Since the program launched in January, more than 200 Irvine households have pledged over 2,200 actions and taken 1,500 measures to reduce emissions. The measures have resulted in a reduction of nearly 650,000 pounds of CO2 emissions.

GIS Day

Join us for GIS Day

Join us Wednesday, November 16, for GIS Day and discover how the City’s Geographic Information System technology improves operational efficiency and enhances the quality of life in Irvine.

The event, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Irvine Civic Center, will provide a forum for users of geographic information system (GIS) technology to demonstrate real-world applications that are making a difference in our society.

There will be presentations, application demonstrations, and more. Test your Irvine knowledge for a chance to win a prize.

Veterans Day

Honoring Veterans

Today, the City held its annual Veterans Day Ceremony at Col. Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park. The event was a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community to honor our nation’s heroes and show our support for military families.

On Veterans Day, and every day, we thank all who serve.
