October 5 is California Clean Air Day, which is built on the idea that shared experiences unite people to take action to improve our community health. By joining together for a unified day of action, we can create new habits to clear the air for all members of California’s diverse communities.
When you take the Clean Air Pledge, you commit to doing your part to clear the air through actions big and small such as using natural all-purpose cleaners, buying produce locally, planting an indoor plant, and walking or biking to the store.
Take the Clean Air Pledge by October 14. Forward your confirmation email to environmentalprograms@cityofirvine.org to receive an eco-friendly prize while supplies last.

Take Part in No Straw November
Plastic straws are one of the leading plastic polluters of the ocean — help change that! No Straw November was created to bring awareness to the many plastic straws being used once and then thrown away in a single month.
Jr Ocean Guardians challenges you to refuse plastic straws throughout November and to keep a tally of how many straws you eliminated from potentially ending up in the ocean. The ultimate goal of No Straw November is to use the single-use plastic straw ban as a wake-up call to all the other plastic you unknowingly use in your life.
Please share this challenge with others and use the hashtag #NoStrawNovember on social media to spread the word.
