Earth Day

Earth Day in Irvine

Happy Earth Day, Irvine! This year marks the 52nd anniversary of this celebration, and Irvine is proud to be a City working toward a more resilient climate this month and all year! As part of this year’s theme, Invest in Our Planet, we are also investing in our own community and making sure residents have access to numerous tangible opportunities to help Irvine obtain its goal of carbon neutrality by 2030. Help us better our City, community, and planet for generations to come.

Join us and Irvine Ranch Conservancy tomorrow, Saturday, April 23, at Quail Hill to keep Earth Day celebrations going. Enjoy free guided hikes at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. through our gorgeous open space preserve. At noon, guests can learn about composting during a free demonstration.

No RSVP is needed for this event, but guests will need to register on-site for the hikes. Space is limited, so arrive early to sign up! Learn more at cityofirvine.org/earthday

National Volunteer Week: Help Make a Difference

Did you know April 17-23 is National Volunteer Week? While the week may be coming to a close, the good news is you can volunteer at any time for the City of Irvine.

We are looking for community members to volunteer with our Senior Services team. There is an urgent need for Meals on Wheels drivers and Dining Room servers. Shifts are available 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, with time commitments as little as one day a week.

Your support helps ensure seniors in the Irvine community get proper nutrition while socializing and making friends. Learn more here
