Wyland Water Conservation Challenge

Learn to Conserve Water Every day

This Earth Day, find simple ways to support our planet by learning new ways to conserve water in everyday life.

The Irvine Ranch Water District (IRWD) provides water to the City of Irvine and surrounding areas. Because of IRWD's diligence and the efforts of our community to use water wisely, IRWD is able to fully meet the water needs of our community. Nevertheless preserving water is always something to strive for, and as such IRWD offers free online workshops to help detect and fix indoor and outdoor water leaks — saving you money and conserving a precious resource! Learn more at irwd.com.

The City of Irvine is also proud to once again join the Wyland National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation. Join us in making a commitment to reduce water consumption and energy use by taking the pledge at mywaterpledge.com

Autism Acceptance Month

Advocate for Autism in April

April is Autism Awareness, Acceptance, and Advocacy Month, also known as 4A.

Previously called Autism Awareness Month, the change in name is due to the fact that one in 44 children are diagnosed with autism, and likely everyone has been directly or indirectly impacted by the disorder in some way. Thus, it is important to shift from solely awareness to Autism acceptance.

There are many ways you can show your support to help people with autism reach their full potential. Visit autismspeaks.org to discover ways to be an advocate in your community.

The City of Irvine’s Disability Services team provides support to individuals with sensory, physical, or cognitive disabilities and their family members in the Irvine community. These services include social recreational programming, inclusion and accommodation support, and resources and referrals.

Visit cityofirvine.org/disabilityservices to learn more.
