Looking to try something new this spring? Irvine Senior Services is offering a variety of free demonstrations allowing you the opportunity to sample classes before signing up. Scholarships for City Classes

Scholarships for City Classes

The City of Irvine offers a scholarship program to help Irvine seniors age 62 and older participate in programs offered through the Community Services Department at a reduced rate. The program has limited funds available, and scholarships are granted on a first-come basis after applications are reviewed and approved.

Drum for Fun Circle

Drum for Fun Circle

Join in a circle of spontaneous fun and percussive joy! Bring your love of music and feel the beat as we create a capacity of rhythms in this one-of-a-kind music experience. Don't forget to bring your drum and percussive instruments — we have some to borrow, too.

Full Range Strength

Full Range Strength

This group fitness class will help to increase strength and flexibility. You will be led through a series of resistance and flexibility exercises designed to increase strength through the full range of motion. The class is open to participants of all fitness levels and abilities.

Dance Instruction

Dance Instruction

Course will strengthen and bring flexibility to the body. By focusing on classic technique, each participant will be led through a series of warm-up exercises that build upon one another. James Mullen, a volunteer instructor, uses active demonstration and high energy to teach each class.

California Telephone Access Program

California Telephone Access Program (CTAP) offers free specialized phones designed for individuals with disabilities. Program is sponsored by the California Public Utilities Commission. For more information or to make an appointment, call the Keen Center for Senior Resources at 949-724-6926.

Guidance on Face Masks During Activities

Per the City of Irvine Emergency Order, face coverings are required for visitors inside all City facilities, regardless of vaccination status, with some exemptions as outlined in the California Department of Public Health Guidance for the Use of Face Coverings. All visitors to City facilities should review the full California Department of Public Health Guidance for the Use of Face Coverings prior to their visit. Visitors must follow all posted signs regarding face coverings and modified use of facilities.
