Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee

Serve on our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee

Join the City's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee by applying for one of two open at-large appointments.

After the City Council voted in December to convert the ad-hoc DEI Committee to a standing committee with expanded roles and abilities, positions are now open to serve. Members provide input on the needs of the community to help ensure that every person living and working within the City is treated with fairness and has access to equitable services and opportunities.

Learn more about our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and apply to serve at cityofirvine.org/dei

Holocaust

Holocaust Remembrance Day

January 27 was International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

This day is the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau and honors the 6 million Jewish victims of the Holocaust and millions of other victims of Nazism.

The theme guiding the United Nations Holocaust remembrance and education is “Memory, Dignity, and Justice.”

Americans and the Holocaust exhibition will be on display at UCI Library from February 2 to March 9. This traveling exhibition examines the motives, pressures, and fears that shaped Americans' responses to Nazism, war, and genocide in Europe during the 1930s and 1940s.
