Celebrate American Heart Month by participating in a virtual run/walk challenge this February.

Race to the Beat

Seniors ages 50 and older are invited to celebrate American Heart Month with the “Race to the Beat” virtual run/walk challenge. Run or walk at your own pace to complete at least six miles during the month of February. Throughout the month, you’ll receive motivational messages and helpful tips to keep you active and engaged. To celebrate, you will be invited to drive through the Lakeview Senior Center parking lot to pick up your victory packet and take a finishers photo.

Drive-thru Winter Wonderland

See the Lakeview Senior Center transform into a drive-thru Winter Wonderland. Senior Services staff members will be out to say hello and give you a sweet treat as you drive through the parking lot from the safety of your car. Attendees are asked to stay in their vehicle and wear a mask. Ages 50+.

Winter Session of 'Virtually Together' Online Classes

Start the new year off right by signing up for a virtual class. Irvine Senior Services is offering Virtually Together, a series of online programs so participants can stay active, engaged, and social while remaining safe at home. The next session of activities such as, Longevity Stick, educational lectures, yoga, and Social Bingo are going on now. These classes are free, and registration is required at  yourirvine.org

Technology Requirements for Online Classes

Classes will be conducted via WebEx. To access this class, a computer such as a Chromebook, Mac, or Windows PC with webcam and microphone is required. Devices such as tablets and phones can also be used. Internet speed requirements: High-speed internet (DSL or cable internet service). A WebEx link will be provided to all registered participants.
