Teen camps include school group and social activities

A variety of new camps for teens and kids are now open for registration. Check each Monday for new upcoming camps and summer activities for kids and teens. Registration is now open for new teen camps, including the new "MSP Teen Academy," which offers middle school students the opportunity to participate in IUSD activities with their peers. Plus, more options for kids at an Irvine park site near you.

Register now for new camps starting in the next few weeks:

• MSP Teen Academy: A "classroom" camp for IUSD middle school students
• Beginning Guitar and Ukulele Camp: For ages 10 and older.
• Arts Camps: Registration opens August 17
• Basketball Camp: For ages 6-12.

Summer activities will be listed online to best serve the community and provide the most up-to-date information on registration and availability. Online, pre-registration is required as a safety precaution. All visitors and participants will be health screened when visiting our sites, to ensure a safe and fun experience for all. 

The City of Irvine has re-evaluated summer activities to keep families and individuals safe while providing much-needed summer recreation, and will continue to follow the latest guidance from the state and county for summer camps.

Don't forget: Complete your child's participant medical form

It takes just a few minutes to complete a Participant Permission and Medical Data Form, to provide information that can help us support your child in an emergency. The form is required once per year, per child. You can submit your 2020 form here. If you have already submitted your 2020 form, but have updated allergy or medical information, you can also submit an update. State guidance on face masks during camps

• The California Department of Public Health requires face coverings to be worn when inside public places, and outdoors when 6 feet of social distancing is not feasible between households.
  • Face coverings (masks or shields) will be required for visitors, staff, and participants while indoors. 
  • While outdoors, participants will be required to maintain 6 feet of distance from other participants, and face coverings will not be required. 
• Allowances are made for children younger than 2, and those with health conditions. Review the information provided by the state or ask staff if you have questions.

We can't wait to see you! Here's what to expect:

• Social Distancing: In-person camps and activities will be in small groups, short duration, and observe social distancing. Groups will not mingle with other groups during the activity. 
• Health Screening: Our facilities remain closed to the general public, and anyone entering for a camp or activity must answer health screening questions and may have their temperature checked to ensure safety for all participants. 
• Safety Measures: Camps and activities will not use shared equipment, and you may see additional safety equipment being installed, such as divider shields in reception areas.
• Personal Protective Equipment: City staff will be wearing personal protective equipment, such as masks and gloves. Participants are required to wear masks indoors. 
• Advance Registration Required: No in-person registration will be accepted. Registration is usually open until just before the activity begins, so you can register on-site by visiting yourirvine.org on your mobile device.
• Check-In, Check-Out, Pick-Ups: Social distancing will be enforced, and parent/guardians should obey all posted signage and line instructions.
