IRVINE GLOBAL VILLAGE FESTIVAL

Make plans to travel the world at the 18th annual Irvine Global Village Festival on Saturday and Sunday October 12 and 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Orange County Great Park.
Visit the City of Irvine Environmental Programs booth to learn more about recycling, and get tips about conserving resources. This multicultural event features international cuisine, live entertainment, a Kids Village with crafts and activities, cultural and religious exhibits, and an international marketplace. Festival admission is $5 per day or purchase a $20 Family Pass for one-day admission for up to 6 people. Purchase advance tickets at irvinefestival.org

Paper shred

FREE PAPER SHRED EVENT

In partnership with the City of Irvine, Waste Management is hosting a free paper shredding event on Saturday, October 26 at the Lakeview Senior Center. Irvine residents can safely and securely dispose of up to five banker-size file boxes (dimensions 24 inches x 12 inches) at a mobile shredding unit on-site. Event is first come, first served and will end when truck capacity is reached.

October is Energy Awareness Month

OCTOBER IS ENERGY AWARENESS MONTH

October is designated as Energy Awareness Month. During the month, everyone is encouraged to take steps to conserve energy because using energy wisely makes sense - both environmentally and economically. Celebrate Energy Awareness Month by learning more about how you use energy and how to make your energy choices more efficient.

No Straw

NO STRAW NOVEMBER

Support the #NoStrawNovember campaign and raise awareness about plastic straw pollution. The Jr. Ocean Guardians challenge you to join in the global movement to request “no straw” when dining out, and think of the straws you may have eliminated from the garbage and oceans. Instead, remember to bring a reusable straw when you leave the house.

Join the conversation and #BeRecycled. America Recycles Day is a Keep America Beautiful national initiative, and the only nationally-recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States..
