Earth Month Challenge

In honor of April being Earth Month, the kids at the Woodbury Community Center were encouraged to compete in a Recycling Challenge. After three weeks, the kids collected 30 pounds of plastic bottles and aluminum cans. The challenge emphasized the importance of recycling and that Every Day is Earth Day in Irvine.

recycling right

If a load of recycling contains non-recyclables, even by just a fraction that entire load risks not being recycled. This is according to new guidelines being enforced on recyclable materials created in the United States. Why does it matter? Quite simply, if you’re not recycling right you could be preventing tons and tons of materials from being turned into new products and instead ending up in landfills. Learn from Waste Management on how to Recycle Often Recycle Right and learn how to rethink generation of waste with tips on reducing impacts.
