Welcome to the Library Reading Corner for September 2025
A Note from City Librarian Elizabeth Saucedo:
This September, we are wishing each of our patrons a very happy "Library Card Sign-up Month"! We’re excited to bring you a variety of ways to show your library pride: enjoy a free skating session (skate rental not included) at Ice in Paradise at our Back-to-School event on September 7th, explore local history through the online Luna Digital Collections, or perhaps borrow one of our new release page-turners for young readers. If you aren’t a card-carrying library patron already, you can stop by any of our six service locations to register – or visit us at the annual Lemon Festival at the end of the month, where we will be providing books and activities from our booth all weekend. Please say hello to our friendly team and pick up a calendar with some great new program offerings while you’re there!
Plus, you can build your home library while supporting your local branch by shopping the Friends of the Library book sales. In addition to regular sales, the Friends of the Buellton Library will be hosting a book sale on September 13 from 10am-1pm at Buellton Library, and the Friends of the Library of the Santa Ynez Valley invites you to a sale from September 16-20 during open hours at Solvang Library.
The world is yours with a library card – and we can’t wait to help you discover all the fantastic resources it has to offer.
Yours in library joy,
Elizabeth & the Library Team
-Elizabeth Saucedo, City Librarian
