Welcome to the Library Reading Corner for February 2024
A Note from Interim Library Director Diane Satchwell:
We want to send love and warm wishes from the Goleta & Santa Ynez Valley Libraries to all our book-loving library users this February. There are many fun events for the whole family this month celebrating Valentine's Day, the Super Bowl, and so much more -make sure you take some time to check out the calendar for your branch below!
A big shout-out to all the amazing participants we've had for our 12th Annual Winter Reading Program this year. We hope you've been reading along with us - but if you haven't had a chance yet, it's still not too late! The last day to participate is Friday, February 23rd.
Our Zip Book Program is more popular than ever! The announcement of the return of the program last month resulted in 50 immediate requests. We are very excited to have this program back and look forward to its continued success.
As a reminder, all libraries will be closed on Thursday, February 22 for an all-staff training. The Book Van will not be making their usual stops for that day.
Happy Reading!
-Diane Satchwell, Interim Library Director

Happening Now! Ends Friday, February 23
Community members of all ages are invited to participate in the library’s 12th annual Winter Reading Program! The 2024 theme is “Warm Up with a Good Book!” and encourages our local patrons to read their way through the winter months with the library’s collection of print and digital titles.
How it works: As in years past, participants will complete one entry slip for every book they read during the program and enter them into prize drawing boxes at their local branch for a chance to win exciting prizes in our weekly drawings. Plus, all the tickets submitted during the program will be entered into a grand prize drawing for everyone who participated! Entry boxes for each age group will be available at the Goleta Valley Library, Bookvan, Solvang Library, and Buellton Library.
Participants can read in whatever format they like best, including print books, graphic novels, eBooks, and audiobooks. We are adding new books to our collection each week, so there has never been a better time to visit your library and discover your next great read!
The Goleta and Santa Ynez Valley Libraries would like to thank the generous sponsors of the 2024 Winter Reading Program.
