Summer is right around the corner, which means the Summer Reading Club for preschoolers through teenagers is due to start any day now. It is incredibly important for kids to keep up their reading skills during the summer so that they don’t experience the “summer slide” and lose what they have learned during the past school year. The library will have many special programs available in June and July for kids and families to enjoy. Adults shouldn’t feel ignored! We have been steadily adding to our new Library of Things collection of 3-dimensional objects that can be borrowed by patrons for up to three weeks. We recently added: Roku TV streaming sticks, a portable record player, a mini projector, a number of programmable robots for children, and early learning thematic backpacks. Much more is to come! We look forward to filling all of your needs at the Goleta Valley Library this summer.
Stay up-to-date on what’s happening at the Library by following us on our Facebook page (@GoletaValley Library)! We post regularly about programs, books, websites, and more.
