Fire Update - 12/19/17, 11:30 a.m.

The Thomas Fire has burned 271,750 acres and is at 50% containment with 8,206 personnel working the incident.  More information can be found here: English and Spanish.  Information is also available 24/7 in multiple languages at 2-1-1 or 800-400-1573 (for those calling from out of town).

Incident command plans to hold its final community meeting today at San Marcos High School at 4 p.m.

While Goleta is not currently threatened, it’s never too early to be prepared in the event you need to evacuate.  FEMA has a helpful checklist here.

Air quality information and a smoke forecast can be found on APCD’s website at www.ourair.org.   Free masks will continue to be distributed at City Hall from Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and at the Goleta Valley Community Center from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Saturday.
