Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan Update at 10/09 Planning Commission Meeting
City of Goleta sent this bulletin at 10/06/2017 10:03 AM PDT
At the October 9 Planning Commission meeting,
City staff will be presenting a status update and receiving input on the Bicycle
and Pedestrian Master Plan (BPMP) project. The BPMP will promote public
health, reduce automobile usage and fuel consumption, and promote
transportation equity. Public feedback throughout this process has been
important in making this project a success. An outline of the BPMP has
been drafted and City staff have been working with the members of the Technical
Advisory Committee on the specific components and order. The BPMP document will
include the following: Vision, Goals, and Objectives; Relationships to Planning
documents; Benefits of Walking and Bicycling; Community Input; Facility types;
Current states of practice; Existing Conditions and Analysis; Recommendations;
and Potential Future Funding Opportunities. The consultant team is working on
creating a draft BPMP document based on this outline.
The Planning Commission meeting is at 6:00 p.m. on October 9 in
City Council Chambers (130 Cremona Drive, Suite B). Click
