The
Hollister Class 1 Bikeway Project is entering the final phase of construction.
The new concrete path is now open for pedestrians and bicyclists to use.
Tomorrow, October 5, the K-rail will be moved and signals at Pacific Oaks and
Entrance Road will be on flashing red with a flagger directing traffic.Anyone leaving from
Cannon Green Drive may find it easier to access Hollister Avenue using Phelps
Road.
Night
work will begin Sunday, October 8 through Thursday, October 12, and then again
the following week Sunday, October 15 through Thursday, October 19. It
includes the grinding and overlay of the existing roadway on Hollister Avenue,
microsurfacing, and pavement striping. The night work will generally be
performed between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. with the noisiest times
occurring during the grinding which will be between 7:00 p.m. and approximately
11:00 p.m. October 8 – 10. Access to Hollister Avenue will be maintained during
most of the work. However, some streets will have detours preventing access to
Hollister Avenue from the normal routes. These detours will be clearly marked
with signs.
Finally, we’ve
received some questions about the poles remaining in the sidewalk. These
will be removed as soon as Frontier is able to move their lines onto the
relocated poles.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and cooperation. For more information on the project, visit http://tinyurl.com/HollisterClassI.
