GGT's SF bus lot is moving on Sunday, Feb. 23

REMINDER: Effective Sunday, February 23, 2014, Golden Gate Transit is relocating its San Francisco bus lot to Perry Street. This move will affect ALL GGT bus operations south of Market Street and some bus stops will NO LONGER be served. GGT strongly suggests customers who ride GGT buses south of Market Street to pay close attention to individual routes and inbound/outbound stops as these may change on February 23.

A high-level description of changes follows. For complete details, inbound and outbound stops that will no longer be served, and alternate stops and services, please visit www.goldengate.org/news/transit/buslotmove_feb2014.php. 

  • Basic bus routes (Routes 10, 70, 80, 101, 101X) will NO LONGER operate on Howard Street or Folsom Street. All trips will begin and end at Main & Folsom and operate along Mission Street. 
  • Financial District commute routes (Routes 2, 4, 8, 18, 24, 27, 38, 44, 54, 56, 58, 72, 72X, 74, 76, and 97) will NO LONGER operate on Howard Street between 4th and 8th Streets (southbound) or on Folsom Street between 3rd and 7th Streets (northbound).
  • Southbound Routes 92 & 93 will NO LONGER operate on Howard Street. Northbound Routes 92 and 93 and Civic Center Route 54 trips will begin at Perry & 3rd Streets and operate on Howard Street to 7th & Market.

In conjunction with this move, GGT will adjust its Spring signup date - when schedules are adjusted to improve running times and system efficiency - to February 23 (from the second Sunday in March). New Spring 2014 bus timetables are available online now (http://goldengatetransit.org/schedules/updates/) and Spring 2014 Transit Guides will be available this week.
