In September, the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway & Transportation District (District) held two virtual community meetings to discuss the San Rafael Transit Center Relocation Project’s Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR), which was released for public review and comment on August 11, 2021. The meetings generated interest and support for the preferred alternative. Information on the meetings, including the presentations, is available here.
Reminder! During unusually high tides (King Tides), the Manzanita Park & Ride may flood. Be sure to check tide tables prior to parking in the lot.
The District’s Passenger Advisory Committees are Seeking New Members! Members meet regularly to provide input and express the preferences of fellow passengers to District managers and staff.

Angel Island Ferry Service Begins December 13, 2021
Beginning December 13, 2021 Golden Gate Ferry will operate service 7 days a week to and from San Francisco Ferry Terminal (SFFT) and Angel Island State Park.
Situated in the middle of San Francisco Bay, Angel Island has a storied military history dating back more than a century. Also known as the “Ellis Island of the West,” the island’s Immigration Station, which has recently been restored, was the first stop for millions of Asian immigrants entering the United States. With miles of superb hiking trails, camping sites, beaches, and breathtaking views of the entire Bay Area, visitors are guaranteed to have a rich outdoor experience.
Beginning December 13, 2021, there will be more weekday trips for Sausalito and Tiburon ferry customers, and Tiburon customers will now enjoy direct service to and from San Francisco without stopping in Sausalito. The new schedules will more than double the number of weekday trips between Sausalito, Tiburon, and San Francisco, giving passengers more options and flexibility for their weekday commute.
