JULY 29: GGB sidewalks temporarily closed 5AM to 10AM - free ped/bike shuttle available
Golden Gate Bridge District sent this bulletin at 07/26/2018 12:00 PM PDTOn Sunday, July 29, 2018, from 5AM to 10AM, the east and west sidewalks of the Golden Gate Bridge will be temporarily CLOSED to bicyclists and pedestrians during the San Francisco Marathon. The Bridge roadway will REMAIN OPEN to traffic at all times.
Sidewalk Closures
- East Sidewalk
- UP TO 5AM: CLOSED to pedestrians; regular overnight access for bicyclists
- 5AM - 10AM: CLOSED to pedestrians & bicyclists - shuttle available (info below)
- Approx. 10AM: REOPEN to pedestrians; bicyclists use west sidewalk
- West Sidewalk - always CLOSED to pedestrians
- UP TO 5AM: CLOSED to bicyclists
- 5AM - 10AM: CLOSED to bicyclists - shuttle available (info below)
- Approx. 10AM: REOPEN to bicyclists; pedestrians use east sidewalk
FREE Ped/Bicycle Shuttle
During the temporary closure of both sidewalks, a free shuttle will be available to transport pedestrians and bicyclists between the Welcome Center parking lot on the south end of the Bridge and the northbound Hwy 101/Alexander Ave off-ramp bus stop at the north end of the Bridge.
Parking Lot Closure
The Vista Point parking lot at the north end of the Bridge will be temporarily CLOSED to vehicles from 4AM to 10AM.
