Public meetings set on proposed regional bus service changes and a one-year fare program

The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District (District) will hold several public meetings this month on proposed regional bus service changes and a one-year fare program.

Proposed regional bus service changes. The District proposes replacing Golden Gate Transit (GGT) Route 10 with new Route 30 and proposes to modify Route 70. These proposed changes would provide more direct service between Marin County and San Francisco and improve the effective use of GGT resources.

Proposed one-year fare program. The District proposes a 4% fare increase for all bus and ferry riders, effective July 1, 2016. The approximate $1.5 million in new revenue would help address the District's projected $34.9 million five-year shortfall.

Open houses. The District will hold four open houses. Three will be held in partnership with Marin Transit, which is proposing local Marin bus service changes.
