Join us for our annual bird watching trek along the Los Angeles River in the City of Glendale. This short hike will be led by Alexander deBarros of the San Fernando Valley Audubon Society. Bring your binoculars, camera, and water.

Nature Journaling is the sweet spot between art, science, observation, and curiosity! This new volunteer-led program for adults and 11-17 year old's with supervision, is an introduction to the basics of nature journaling with monthly meet ups. All levels of nature journaling experience welcome!

Spend some quality family time enjoying the great outdoors once a month! We invite the public to join us for an interpretive hike in Deukmejian Wilderness Park, a nature craft, nature themed games, and a tour of the Stone Barn Nature Center. We will provide water, snacks, and bus transportation from Pacific Community Center, leaving at 8:30 AM and returning at 12:30 PM Funding for the bus is provided by Metro, a partner in our community.
*Program time begins at 9:00 AM at Deukmejian Wilderness Park. If you choose to meet at the park, please arrive by 8:45 AM. The program ends at 12:00 PM, and bus riders will return to Pacific Community Center by 12:30 PM.
Important information:
- A FREE bus leaves from Pacific Community Center, 501 S. Pacific Avenue, at 8:30 AM and returns at 12:30 PM.
- Everyone is encouraged to ride the bus! Please arrive by 8:00 AM to check-in with the staff if you are riding the bus with us.
- Please wear sturdy shoes, long pants, and a hat or cap.
- Adult supervision is required! One adult for every three children 17 and under is required.

Now you can explore City of Glendale parks in a whole new way! The Agents of Discovery app will take you on self-guided walks, with themed missions full of fun challenges and interactive, virtual activities along the way. Each Mission has a map of its location and a Field Agent to guide you.

Volunteer Opportunities
 ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR TRAIL SAFETY PATROL VOLUNTEERS!
As a Trail Safety Patrol (TSP) volunteer, you have a unique opportunity to assist the City of Glendale by providing public assistance and resource protection. Your influence on park visitors will enhance their experience and safety while in our parks. The TSP consists of two units: The Mountain Bike Unit and the Hike Unit.
TSP volunteers must be 18 years of age, undergo a background check and City-mandated trail safety training, attend a First Aid/CPR certification class, be in good health, and devote a minimum of two hours per month. If interested, please send an email to Trails@GlendaleCA.gov.
