At GWP, we're focused on keeping you safe and your power running smoothly. While we don’t offer general tree trimming, we do inspect and trim trees near power lines to prevent hazards.
Why Tree Trimming Matters
Our contractor, West Coast Arborists, Inc., helps trim trees that could threaten power lines and cause power outages. It is not uncommon for trees and tree limbs to fall during high winds, rain, and other stormy conditions. If a tree or limb falls into power lines, stay away from the line; do not remove or touch it and call 9-1-1. Always assume downed power lines are still electrically charged.
Planting Trees? Plan for Safety!
Trees make our homes and neighborhoods beautiful, but planting them too close to power lines can lead to dangerous situations. Before you plant a tree, make sure the location is out of the way of overhead and underground utilities. Plant trees at least 10 feet from power lines and avoid those that grow taller than 25 feet. Call 811 before digging to locate underground utilities.
